This is a battle for the ages, two of the biggest and best vaporizers on the market today. Two vaporizers that everyone has heard and no one one has stopped talking about. Today we will review both vaporizers side by side. The Silver Surfer (SSV) is known for its powerful vaporization utilizing a hose to draw the vapor in while the Volcano Classic is known for filling balloon bags with some of the thickest vapor imaginable. Volcano Classic Vaporizer- the Rolls Royce of vaporizers!

Volcano Classic Vaporizer

The Volcano Classic vaporizer is a device that vapes plant materials like herbs, cannabis and tobacco for the purpose of achieving euphoric results and relief from stress or bodily pain. The basic reason behind using a vaporizer is it saves you from inhaling all those nasty chemicals, which you would have otherwise inhaled from smoking. It helps to remove those chemicals and saves you from the various side effects, it also conserves your herbs (don’t forget you can eat the leftovers!).

As the name suggests, it is indeed a classic and one of the best vaporizers available in the market; the price is high but if you want this level of quality you are going to have to pay. It is known as the Rolls Royce of vaporizers, since it is one of the most expensive and luxurious vaporizers on the entire planet. Volcano vaporizers are imported to the USA by manufacturer Storz and Bickel and are made by the most skilled German engineering technicians. Each Volcano is hand crafted utilizing precision German handiwork from the most astounding quality components. Offering licensed “constrained air” innovation, every Volcano is assembled with a solid aluminum and a fan that drives a predictable stream of hot air around and through your home grown greens.

Why should you choose to use the Volcano Classic vaporizer?

The vapor produced by the Volcano contains amazing flavors and animated elements from the plant material vaporized with hot air produced by the heating element. With the vaporization procedure hot air passes through your herbs and is pushed up into the balloon bag. Throughout this process the flavors and dynamic elements will be set free through regulated adjustable temperature range of 130°c (266°f) to 230°c (446°f). Depending on the particular vaporization temperature you have set your Volcano to different active ingredients will be vaporized and ingested. Smoking or combustion at high temperatures will burn the plant material unnecessarily and create all the toxins and unwanted chemicals associated with smoking. What’s more, the high and uncontrollable burning temperature causes the unnecessary devastation of most of the material. Vaporizing does the inverse, the plant materials are vaporized without burning in a delicate manner and in this way you revel in both health profits and also budgetary profits. Your weed doesn’t get burned up and consequently it is conceivable to vaporize the herbs in the filling chamber a few times until all the goodness has been vaped.  You can usually get two to three balloon bags per session with a decent amount of herb in the chamber.

Cleaning, Maintaining and Accessories included

The Volcano is unfathomably simple to clean and maintain. You should simply brush out the herbal chamber each 5-10 sessions and delicately clean within the chamber with a cotton swab dunked in isopropyl alcohol. Proper maintenance is key to the longevity of your Volcano Classic.  To ensure the long and prosperous life of your Volcano, we prescribe cleaning the valve set and changing the screens after every 50-75 chamber loads. Every valve set accompanies 3 upper screens and 3 lower screens for the herbal chamber. The bags and screens are the main components that need replacing. The Volcano comes with accessories like, Herbal Heating Chamber, Balloon Bag Set (Solid or Easy Valve), Screen Set, Air Filter Set, Concentrate Pad, Cleaning Brush, Herbal Grinder and Instruction Manual (you probably won’t need the manual).

Now on to the Silver Surfer Vaporizer!

Silver Surfer Vaporizer

Silver Surfer Vaporizer

The Silver Surfer vaporizer, no not the comic character is another powerful vaporizer in a fledgling market. The Silver Surfer vaporizer uses a unique reverse 90 degree angle design which prevents your blend from falling out while you are vaping. This vaporizer provides a standard or ground glass connection; this means that the user can vaporize without holding the whip in place and is much easier to use.  Most people prefer the ground glass connection, but the standard option is completely acceptable and very user friendly.  I started with the standard and moved on later to the ground glass connection, now I have both and couldn’t be happier.

The Silver Surfer vaporizer features a custom glass knob and heater cover. Every glass knob is one of kind and hand blown here in the USA. The heating element for the vaporizer is completely made of ceramic and removed from all electronics so that no toxin is formed. The vaporizer features a heating element that brightens and dims depending on the temperature. It also includes a padded travel case that makes transportation of your vaporizer easy and simple, no need to worry about your vape rolling around in the back of your.  It also fits the whips, mouthpiece, stir sticks and everything else you might need pack along for the ride.

The unit comes with a standard glass wand and heater cover permitting the user to manipulate the air flow while vaping the blends. This is achieved by adjusting the angle at which the wand meets the heating element and rotating the wand in a circular motion. This lets you vape the material without having to repeatedly stir up your weed and lets you get a lot more bang for you buck.  I find that I can get larger hits using the standard setup, but the ground glass hands free connection is a bit more convenient.  The use of a ground glass connection allows for hands free vaporization, and permits you relax sit back and draw at your leisure. The wand and cover fit perfectly to create a seal so that no juicy vapor escapes and is lost in the inhalation process.

And the winner is…

Well this is a tough one, on the one hand you have the forced-air powerhouse Volcano Classic.  The Classic is capable of giving you those dense bags of vapor full of flavor and ready to be passed around.  On the other hand you have the Silver Surfer, one on one vaping at its best.  The Volcano while pricier is unparalleled in its ability to extract the maximum amount of active ingredients.  The Silver Surfer however delivers the goods and is in my opinion the best whip vaporizer out there.

SILVER SURFER!

What you get for the price just can’t be beat.  The Silver Surfer Vaporizer is incredibly reliable, hits smoothly, and if you clean it regularly it will never let you down.  It heats up fast and has a very responsive heating element, this machine will keep on pumping out vapor relentlessly for years on years.  7th Floor is know for their handmade quality products and this vaporizer exemplifies that in every aspect.  I am in no way knocking the performance of the Volcano Classic, but the price of the units and efficiency with my nugs is what finally tipped the scales to the SSV.

I like the clash of styles, forced air vs a standard hose vape. But if I had to pick one weed vaporizer to choose from it would probably the Classic. It is def a hard choice though.

Silver Surfer all the way! The Volcano is a beast but I find that most people, including myself, prefer the whip style over the balloon bag. I use my SSV every day and I couldn’t think of a single complaint if I tried.
