Today, June 18th 2014, the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee is meeting to discuss the health and safety of E-cigarettes. Controversially, consumers and small business have been excluded from the discussion. The CASAA has created a CQ Roll Call campaign to reinforce the importance of the involving consumers and small business in this discussion. After all, consumers are best served by a diverse marketplace. It’s fundamental for small businesses to provide high-quality products that meet their consumers’ wants and needs. At Vaporizer-Review, we make it our priority to cover all aspects of the vape and e-cigarette industry so you can make an educated and informed decision.

It’s widely known that tobacco use in America is on the decline. Widespread knowledge of the health issues of using tobacco has definitely been a key player. More and more people are looking for healthier alternatives to traditional tobacco consumption. Recent studies have shown that E-juice vaporizers, commonly referred to as “E-Cigs” have been cutting down tobacco sales nation-wide.

In my recent venture to kick the old habit, I decided to use the Atmos Optimus 510 Vaporizer. So far, I’ve found many upsides to the alternative. The refillable tank makes it extremely convenient to “get your fix” at just about any time. The battery life is great, lasting about 2-3 days of regular use. The portable USB charger makes it easy to charge anywhere there’s a computer, which is just about everywhere in today’s world. Not to mention, it’s significantly more affordable than traditional tobacco. Vaporizer pens can be purchased at walk-in stores, or a variety of online sites and usually range from about $30 to $100. E-juice can be purchased for about $5-$10 and varies in nicotine concentration. So, as you progress, you can slowly reduce your nicotine intake. Once you rid yourself of the intense cravings, the physical, hand-to-mouth addiction may still be a concern. Luckily, E-juice companies also make nicotine-free flavored juice, so you can still get the physical pleasure of holding and inhaling, without in-taking the crave-causing chemical.

For new E-Cig users looking to quit smoking, I recommend using an E-Cig as a partial substitute at first. Many users get discouraged when they realized an E-Cig is quite different from traditional smoking and are quick to jump back to the old habit. From my experience, I can assure you, it gets better. When starting off, use the E-cig as replacement for 2-3 cigarettes a day. After a few days, increase that number. You’ll quickly find that when you revert to the old habit, the burning smoke is uncomfortably hot and irritating on your throat and lungs. I was able to kick my 5-year awful habit entirely within 14 days, using an E-Cig. After a month, I wasn’t even using my E-Cig anymore, so I was able to pass it along to a friend looking to kick the habit, as well.

While the health risks of E-Cigs have not yet been entirely identified, I find it hard to imagine they are more dangerous than traditional cigarettes or chewing tobacco. Although, because of the convenience and indoor acceptance of E-Cigs, some users finding themselves using an E-Cig more often than they would traditional cigarettes. Studies have shown that excessive E-Cig use can cause an increase of carbon monoxide in the blood stream.

Of course they are safer. I have had my Buck Naked vaporizer for about three months now and absolutely love it. It heats up instantly and help keep me from smelling like cigs all day long. Since I have made the switch to vaping I have been able to jog about twice as far, its amazing. I can’t wait to see what my lap times are going to be looking like in a few months!
